The suspense builds as police interrogate, the media dogs her, and strangers lurk. A camera full of photographs of the investigation including the supposed murder weapon goes missing and Fiona is threatened. The press reveals a history of conflict and intrigue between the family that owns the building, the South Asian-Canadian Johals, and the development corporation that the Simmons head. The incident fuels the fire of a housing controversy.
In the course of these developments, Fiona’s like takes a positive turn. She finds romantic interest in a new friend, a free-lance photographer working on the case. She is reconnected with her mother and son because of the media’s attention. She takes step to finalize her divorce and get on a career track.
